Electric anchor windlass is a type of anchor windlass that is directly driven by an electric motor and driven by gearbox to operate the active shaft. It has a simple structure; Generally applicable to anchor windlass with anchor chain diameters ranging from 16mm to 93mm. Installed on the main deck at the bow of the ship, it is used for anchoring and mooring when the ship is anchored. The power source of the Electric Windlass is an electric motor, which drives the main shaft to rotate after multi-stage reduction through the large and small gears in the gearbox. Due to the high requirements for reduction ratio, the reducer structure is relatively large and mainly used for small and medium-sized ships.
Windlass can be divided into horizontal windlass and vertical windlass according to arrangement.The horizontal windlass is widely used in modern transport ships.For the convenience of mooring and unmooring operation and adjusting the force of cable, modern ships often adopt the combination of anchor and mooring winch, which combines the anchor winch and mooring winch.In addition to the auxiliary reel at the end of the spindle, a mooring winch (main reel) is provided on the windlass spindle, which, like the sprocket wheel, is driven by the spindle and controlled by a separate clutch and brake.Close the clutch and twist or loosen the rope.After the cable is tightened, the brake is tightened to maintain the stress state of the cable without being moved to the bollard.
Mooring windlass can be divided into several specifications according to the diameter of the chain, such as φ 12- φ 120mm. The anchor windlass is mainly composed of a base, bracket, chain wheel, brake, sprocket, gearbox, electronic control system (excluding manual anchor windlass), etc. The electric anchor windlass has an electric motor, and the main technical indicators of the anchor windlass include anchor chain diameter, anchor nominal speed, rated load, supported load, several speed changes, and electric braking. The installation of the anchor windlass on the ship should ensure that the angle between the anchor chain and the sprocket is 117-120
Including sprockets, cable drum, clutches, and brakes. These functional components are all arranged on the same spindle driven by power. The winch drum (auxiliary drum) at the end of the main shaft generally rotates together with the main shaft, while the sprocket is controlled by an independent clutch and brake. When the clutch is engaged, the sprocket and the main shaft are interlocked and can rotate together with the main shaft, allowing the anchor chain to be twisted in or out. When the clutch is disengaged, the sprocket does not rotate with the main shaft and can be used for anchoring or cable twisting operations. Brakes are used to brake anchor chains or control the speed of loose chains. When the brake is tightened, the sprocket is firmly attached to the anchor machine body and cannot rotate. Ships can generally be equipped with a double chain wheel anchor. For large ships or ships with large bulbous bows, due to the large distance between the left and right anchor chain tubes, two separate single chain wheel anchors (or single-sided anchors) are often installed.
