The winch drum (auxiliary drum) at the end of the main shaft generally rotates together with the main shaft, while the sprocket is controlled by an independent clutch and brake. When the clutch is engaged, the sprocket and the main shaft are interlocked and can rotate together with the main shaft, allowing the anchor chain to be twisted in or out. Brakes are used to brake anchor chains or control the speed of loose chains. When the brake is tightened, the sprocket is firmly attached to the anchor machine body and cannot rotate.
